I genuinely believe that therapy can be a
transformational experience that produces powerful and long-term change
in your life. I realize that the decision to seek counseling can be difficult. Whether
overwhelmed by a problem or feelings that cannot be fully understood,
troubled by a relationship that is failing or diminished ability to be
effective in your everyday routine, I would consider myself honored to
be trusted with your vulnerability and pain, and help you to achieve
positive change in your life.
I view the therapeutic
relationship as a partnership in which we journey together to bring
about the change you want in your life. I interweave a variety of means
to facilitate healing and wholeness based on your needs and wishes.
The
therapeutic relationship provides the "safe, protected space", the
container in which vulnerable issues and intense emotions can be
accessed and processed. Ideally the relationship itself can become a
space where unconscious patterns from other significant relationships
can be examined and worked through. After an initial assessment, I will
collaborate with you to develop goals that are meaningful and important
to you.
My experience ranges from helping families in crisis, running group
sessions, individual, couples and family counseling. I have a passion
for helping those who want to heal from eating disorders, drug or
alcohol abuse, childhood neglect, or trauma, to reach their goals in a
non-judgmental environment.
