 Discovery Detective Academy, Arizona was founded in 1996.  Today, we are one of the largest providers of professional security and investigating training services in the state.   We have been teaching investigations, security, personal protection, and executive protection since the early 80's in California where our affiliate company Discovery Detective Group is a licensed investigation firm.  All courses, certificates, and instructors are NRA and DPS approved.  Our founders have helped develop many of the teaching standards in place today for security and investigations training.   We are proud to offer the best training experience to our candidates.  We teach sound methods to reduce the risk of liability and injury on the job for both our candidates and their employers.  Basic Security Officer 8 hr DPS training certification and Armed Guard 16 hr DPS training certification given at successful course completion.  Our candidates leave our classroom understanding levels of reasonable force; Arizona title 32 security law and Arizona title 13 criminal laws that apply to security, interfacing with law enforcement, basic report writing, the importance of image to represent your company, and the responsibilities of wearing a uniform...   Discovery Detective Academy is approved and licensed for the following programs in AZ and many other states for funding: VA GI Bill, Vocational rehabilitation, AZHEAT, Workforce Connections, OIC, Workers Comp, Ticket to Work... Call and ask if you do not see a program listed.  Some programs may qualify for low income credit. We help with job placement and give referrals to candidates to companies that request to be on our list or call with specific jobs to fill.   We additionally recruit for companies looking to hire our graduates.  Candidates receive a security manual put together by Discovery that includes title 32, 13, use of force, basic first aid, basic report writing, licensing information, and more.  This is for the candidate to keep and use after they leave our classroom and are on the job. Our training is for candidates that work or are looking to work for both licensed security guard companies and private security such as; schools, malls, bars...  Increase your job prospects by being pre-trained.  Having trained guards is the law for security guard companies and in private security it provides professional employees that lower your liability exposure and qualify you for reduced insurance rates.
