Faux finsishing- walls, ceilings, columns. Many application techniques can be applied to these surfaces as well as textures. Color washing, Venetian Plaster, wood graining, marble, and various decorative painting techniques (striping, harlequins, etc.) to name a FEW!
Cabinets - and other wood surfaces can be glazed, crackled, antiqued, distressed, etc. It's a way to bring old, dated wood surfaces to new life. By refinishing/glazing cabinets, you save 2/3 the money you'd spend on buying new!
