The Brain Injury Association of Connecticut (or BIAC) is a statewide, non-profit agency dedicated both to supporting brain injury survivors, their families, and their caregivers and to educating the public about the realities of brain injury and its prevention. As such, BIAC offers individual advocacy; referral services that access a wide-ranging network of community resources; 18 support groups; a peer mentoring program; a borrowing library with literature on brain- injury-related topics, as well as a bookstore through Amazon.com; organized social gatherings; an educational outreach program featuring presentations designed for all age groups; periodic workshops and seminars for professionals in the brain injury field; and an active legislative advocacy effort to ensure that the needs of survivors and their families are fully represented
