Keywords: Strategic Planning

We provide pre-packaged and custom training across our entire service portfolio. Training and retreat facilitation can be provided as complete stand alone services or as components of more extensive consulting activities such as board renewal and strategic planning.

Training events focus on imparting knowledge and developing skills while retreats promote thorough exploration of issues, problem-solving and decision-making by organization participants themselves. Training and discussion can be combined in a retreat setting. We provide pre-packaged and custom trainings across our entire service portfolio.

We excel at retreats and self examination sessions, helping clients create breakthroughs in understanding and group self-awareness. We set the best, most tailored agenda possible but almost always, groups discover that they are ready to talk about key items that are not part of the formal agenda. It is a source of pride that we almost always find and acknowledge at least one of those key items in a full- day session. We are able to customize the agenda on the fly, adjusting it, with group's permission, to address priorities that shift throughout the session.

We usually provide services using multiple modes at once, adjusting the mix as appropriate during the consulting engagement to best meet client needs.

While perceived lack of an adequate board my cause nonprofits to postpone planning, an effective planning process can identify which roles are missing from the board and attract prospective candidates to an organization. Many nonprofits want a strategic plan because it is expected by funding sources and it provides a rational foundation for fund raising.

Klass Strategies - Revenue Diversification

Many nonprofits contact consultants for "grant writing," believing that a one-time large infusion of new cash is equivalent to winning the lottery. Seeking new sources and combinations of funding is an ongoing process necessary for the survival of most nonprofits. Usually much broader services are required, involving expansion or initiation of several types of fund raising.

Analysis of customer perceptions, assessment of degree of community impact, development of performance measures, use of secondary measures, online survey tools and focus groups. Without this understanding, an organization can not identify appropriate service goals or acquire new sources of funding. Understanding the impact of services on community well-being is central to managing nonprofit organizations.
