Technology is changing the way we are doing business. Every time I think there is nothing left to
discover, some genius somewhere on the planet comes up with another fabulous idea. I am
amazed at how rapidly the changes are taking place, and I have to admit, it can be exhausting
trying to stay on top of it all, which is why I am dedicating this month's tips to bringing some of
these unique tools to your attention.
The next generation of email that will soon become common place in our business is "video"
emails instead of text. An example of this can be found at . I recommend you
take the time to investigate this new technology to see how you might utilize it with your clients
so they always think of you as a trend setter.
Another innovation that has caught my eye is a newsletter company in Canada which is using
"variable" data to customize newsletters to your clients' specific preferences (using different
languages, styles and stories based on the type of client you are sending the newsletter to).
These newsletters offer a very personal feel compared most of the generic newsletters I've seen
on the market. For an example visit .
Part of having a successful business is keeping in touch with past clients. Sending letters with
business cards asking for referrals is boring and won't get much attention, so we suggest you
start sending personal greeting cards to stay in touch. Postcards and greeting cards have a
personal feel, and it suggests you want to "build a relationship" with them instead of always
asking for more business. Sending cards for special occasions is a nice way to constantly keep in
touch in a friendly way that will keep referrals coming your way. An excellent example is
. Leader's Edge Training is a distributor of Send Out Cards and if you are
interested in the service, we offer special FREE campaigns to stay in touch with past and
potential clients as well as prospecting campaigns for FSBO's and Expired’s. Call our office at
866-607-7999 to learn more.
If you have a website and are looking for the next best way to offer exceptional service to your
clients and stay a step ahead of the competition, services are available to help showcase your
listings by allowing potential buyers to "personalize" the listing pictures (e.g. adding/removing
furniture, changing wall paint colors, types of flooring, etc.). Sometimes clients have a difficult
time picturing what the house would look like once they make the changes they want to make -
this service takes the guess work out of it by allowing people to see the changes online before
ever picking up a paint brush. It is very simple to use too! To see an example of this, visit
and click on "Space Designer".
The latest craze for agents these days is "online social networking". I am going on the record as
saying that I don't think this is the best use of your time. Agents love it, and can't seem to get
enough of it, but my point of view is this...if you are spending all of your time blogging, you are
not doing the activities that are going to make you money! Top producers in the industry don't
have time for online networking - they are too busy writing deals! We should take a page from
their book. If you can't help yourself and you have the urge to social network, here are two of
the more popular sites: and .
I wish you great success this month.
