Keywords: Hearing Aids, hearing loss

The audiologist will conduct a hearing test and review the results with the patient. If a significant hearing loss is present and the patient is motivated to improve his or her hearing and communication ability with the use of hearing aids then a hearing aid evaluation will be scheduled.

During the hearing aid evaluation, usually accomplished in an hour, the audiologist will explain the many hearing aid options available for your particular hearing loss and make a recommendation as to which hearing aid would be most beneficial for the patient. Any and all questions will be answered so that you will be able to make a confident decision as to what type of hearing aid will work best for you.

**Remember, your success with hearing aids depends on your awareness of your hearing problem, your willingness and desire to do something about it, and most importantly, your relationship with the professionals who can help you.

Sawyer Audiology - solutions

With automatic and adaptive features, directional microphones, noise reduction and feedback suppression, today’s hearing instruments are more effective and comfortable in even the most difficult listening situations. This style is typically recommended for individuals with high frequency specific hearing loss, but can accommodate mild to severe hearing loss across the entire frequency range.

Sawyer Audiology - diagnostictesting

This test is very quick and informative and does not require any response from the patient; it is frequently used to assess the hearing sensitivity of newborn babies prior to leaving the hospital as well as assess the effects of ototoxic medications on a persons’ hearing sensitivity. Results of this test help in making the diagnosis of Meniere’s disease and other disorders affecting the inner ear.
