   REDUCING HOME CONSTRUCTION COSTS: Here I list some methods of keeping costs low. Often conflicting with what one would prefer to have, but designing a new home is mainly making choices; many of which involve money. It’d be a mistake to let any of the following suggestions take on more importance. Balance between what you want and how much it is going to cost. One very important point is there is no "golden rule" to reducing these costs. A house consists of thousands of parts involving 20 to 30 different construction trades. Keep it rectangular.
