  • Exact replacement for most ice machines
  • Eight sizes available
  • Competitively priced
  • Cupro-nickel inner tube
  • U.L. and C.S.A. approved for working pressures of:
    • Refrigerant side: 650 psig
    • Water side: 400 psig

Packless ice machine coils utilize a coaxial “tube-in-tube” design. Water flows through the inner tube while refrigerant flows in the annulus between the inner and outer tubes.

The key to the high performance of Packless ice machine coils lies in the convoluted multi-lead inner tube manufactured in a patented process. The resulting convoluted tube has increased heat transfer surface area per unit length, yet still permits full flow of both water and refrigerant around its entire periphery for improved performance. Turbulence imparted by the convolutions to both the water and refrigerant flows further enhances the thermal performance, while inhibiting the accumulation of deposits on the surfaces. The net result is a highly effective, compact heat exchanger with superior anti-fouling characteristics.

Optimum heat transfer with Packless ice machine coils is achieved with a counterflow arrangement of water and refrigerant during condensing.

Packless ice machine coils are covered by one or more of the following U.S. patents: 5409057, 5551504, 5311661.

Heat Pump Coils

Turbulence imparted by the convolutions to both the water and refrigerant flows further enhances the thermal performance, while inhibiting the accumulation of deposits on the surfaces. Packless water-source heat pump coils operate very effectively as either refrigerant condensers or refrigerant evaporators when transferring heat with water.

Desuperheater Coils

The Packless CDAX series of coaxial desuperheaters are designed specifically to remove heat from the superheated refrigerant discharge vapor of air conditioning, refrigeration, or heat pump systems for the purpose of heating potable water. Potable water flows inside a double-wall convoluted copper tube in a counterflow direction to the refrigerant vapor flowing in the annulus between the convoluted tubing and the smooth outer steel tube.

Double Wall Condenser Coils

The Packless CDAX series of coaxial condensers are designed specifically to remove heat from the refrigerant discharge vapor of air conditioning, refrigeration, or heat pump systems for the purpose of heating potable water. Potable water flows inside a double-wall convoluted copper tube in a counterflow direction to the refrigerant vapor flowing in the annulus between the convoluted tubing and the smooth outer steel tube.

Condenser Coils

Packless water-source condenser coils operate very effectively as either refrigerant condensers or refrigerant evaporators when transferring heat with water. Standard models are available with either copper or 90-10 cupro-nickel inner tubes surrounded by steel outer tubes. This makes them an ideal choice for both water-source heat pumps and water-cooled condenser applications.
