Sherwood Retirement and Personal Care Home is a "private pay" home established in 1999 by owners and administrators Jim and Karen Sherwood, who reside in the home as well. Initially we had one wing, our East wing and later in 2003 we expanded our home to include a West wing to give us a total of 24 private /semi-private bedrooms. This expansion also included a formal dining room, sitting room, parlor, living room, family room and additional laundry space.
The decision to place an elderly loved one in a personal care home can be emotional, stressful and overwhelming to all concerned. We understand this is a difficult time, and it is our priority to offer the support and guidance needed to allow the transition to be as easy and comfortable as possible. At first the new resident may express feelings of frustration and abandonment, and family may experience a sense of guilt and uncertainty.
