"My grandfather started this company in 1908," says Irv Brown, chairman, Lebermuth. "Although cliché, times sure have changed. Like any other successful business that is thriving after 100 years, we have done well and continue to flourish because of basic commitments, which include intense dedication to our customers, product quality controls and the desire to change as the industries we serve change … and yes, a whole lot of sweat and some tears."
The Lebermuth Company is a family-owned business. The company, originally known as M. Brown & Sons, continues to be one of the world’s largest grower-direct suppliers of essential oils. Today, fourth generation great-grandsons now run the corporation. Irvin Brown, third generation, established Lebermuth in 1974.
Today, the company sells essential oils to the aromatherapy, flavor and fragrance industries and continues to service the potpourri and craft industries and have expanded into the industrial and institutional markets and personal care products industries.
