Email The Rhein River Inn--German Restaurant/Bed & Breakfast
A full service German restaurant & Bed & Breakfast in a newly renovated 1840 historic manor home nestled near The James River in the historic mountain town of Buchanan, Virginia. This grand home was the former residence of Commodore William C. Whittle of The Confederate Navy. His second-eldest son, William 'Conway' Whittle, Jr. was executive Officer aboard the infamous CSS Shenandoah--the last Confederate ship to surrender 4 months after The Civil War had officially ended--spent some of his childhood here. Our restaurant offers authentic German cuisine & other specials served in our full-service 'tea room-style' dining area complete w/antique furnishings, linens, china, etc. We are also a tea room offering over 30 hot teas served in antique teapots & teacups including traditional, decaf, & herbal teas. Our Bed & Breakfast rooms (two) are decorated period-era to the home with antique furnishings, silk ceilings, private baths, AC, & hardwood floors w/ oriental rugs. Come & experience what true mountain relaxation is all about! We also offer catering, both on & off site, as well as sponsoring groups & organizational events.
We look forward to meeting you!
