About The Tropical Adventures Foundation

The Tropical Adventures Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Costa Rica, offering volunteer tour packages for individual travelers, families and groups interested in exploring the culture, contributing to the communities, learning the language and exploring the natural beauty of Costa Rica.

Tropical Adventures has volunteering opportunites available in various parts of the country. Projects are based in Guanacaste (on the Pacific Coast), in and around Puerto Viejo (on the Caribbean Coast), In Arenal (one of the most active volcanoes and in Alajuela (near Arenal)

Projects are as follows:

Children and Education:

Teaching in Elementary Schools in Puerto Viejo, Bambu and Hojancha.

Conservation and Wildlife:

Wildlife rescue center in Alajuela

Monte Alto Nature Reserve in Guanacaste.

Natural Wildlife Reserve of Camaronal in Guanacaste.

Arenal volcano National park

Community Development:

Work in the Bambu Cultural Center on the Talamanca Indigenous Reservation.

Retirement Home on the Caribbean Coast.

Our programs, which volunteers can start on any date, are a minimum of 1 week long. We are able to adapt and customize these programs to suit the volunteer’s personality and interests – it is possible to combine different volunteering projects and we can even arrange tours if you wish to spend half your time volunteering and half your time vacationing.
