Art To Part offers the following rapid prototyping processes:
Stereolithography (SLA) prototypes using the 3D Systems Viper si2. Stereolithography is an additive manufacturing process using a vat of liquid UV-curable photopolymer "resin" and a UV laser to build parts a layer at a time. To create each layer, the laser traces a part cross-section pattern on the surface of the liquid resin. Exposure to the UV laser light cures, or, solidifies the pattern traced on the resin and adheres it to the layer below.
Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) using prototype and manufacturing services from EOS GmbH. Metal parts of the most complex geometries are built layer-by-layer (down to 20 microns) directly from 3D CAD data, automatically, without tooling. The parts have excellent mechanical properties, high detail resolution and exceptional surface quality. The metal powder is melted entirely to create a fully dense, fine, homogenous structure. Unique geometric freedom of design enables DMLS to form cavities and undercuts which, with conventional methods, can only be produced with great difficulty, if at all.
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is an additive manufacturing technology that uses a high power laser to fuse plastic, ceramic, or glass powders into a 3-dimensional object. The laser selectively fuses powdered material by scanning cross-sections generated from a 3D CAD drawing of the part on the surface of a powder bed. After each cross-section is scanned the powder bed is lowered by one layer thickness, a new layer of material is applied on top, with the process repeated until the part is completed.
Objet, the cutting edge in rapid-prototyping that elevates 3D models to a whole new level. Based on PolyJet®, this photopolymer-jetting technology produces outstanding surface features and detail with the finest resolution of horizontal layers in the market, 16 microns (0.0006″). We can build thin walls down to 0.6 mm and eliminate the stair step effect typical of SLA models. We also offer a large family of materials for you to choose from (5 rigid resins & 3 Soft durometer resins).
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing technology commonly used for modeling, prototyping, and production applications. Classified as a rapid prototype technology, FDM works on an "additive" principle, laying down material in layers. A plastic filament or metal wire is unwound from a coil and supplies material to an extrusion nozzle which can turn on and off the flow.
RTV Tooling & Urethane Casting. Many products have low quantity production needs due to changing technology, design or are just low volume products. In a high volume world this can make things difficult for companies who need high quality production parts and want to eliminate the need to cut expensive injection molds. This is where “Short Run” production comes in. When you need to produce parts, but do not meet the quantity for production status, Cast Urethanes, can be hand mixed and poured or meter mixed and injected to accomplish your production needs. Short run is also a great way to bridge the gap between prototype runs and high volume production ramp up. What can we produce for you?
3D Color Printing using Z Corporation's 3D Printers. These models are great for visual appearance. They can be produced in monochrome or full color. Click on the images below to see a larger image.
Concept models from CAD data:
All we need is the STL file output to produce your concept model or SLA rapid prototype. Large parts can be run in sections and then re-assembled during post-processing. For a quote, send us an email with your compressed STL file.
CAD modeling services to produce prototypes:
We can do the 3D solid modeling for you. Send your print, 2D data, sketch on a napkin, ... and we will quote the 3D solid modeling and the prototype.
Color and other materials:
Parts can be prototyped in monochrome, clear, opaque white, or full-color. Printing in full-color is great for communicating important information about parts, including engineering data, labeling, highlighting features, appearance simulation, and FEA plots directly on the part. SLA parts can be produced in several materials with similar properties to ABS. We can even create the part using several methods and material for casting tooling masters. The DMLS process supports Stainless Steel, Cobalt Chrome, Maraging Steel, and DM20 (Bronze Alloy).
3D Laser Scanning:
Using the latest in 3D laser scanning equipment, Art To Part can easily scan objects directly into SolidWorks. These files can then be used for reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, assembly modeling, or modified to create a new version.
