Scott M. Jordan, DDS
A big part of keeping our patients healthy is making sure that we diagnose their conditions early so that they can save time, money, and complications when it comes to their treatment. At Dr. Scott Jordan’s office, we utilize some of the most up-to-date equipment and diagnostic techniques in order to effectively preserve the health of our patients.
Digital Dental X-Rays
We take periodic x-rays in our Encinitas dental office so that we can look for common conditions such as:
Inadequate bone levels
That way, if a problem arises, we can let you know right away. Just like any medical condition, early treatment of dental issues often provides better results.
Benefits of Digital Radiography
We know that some patients might have concerns about the use of x-rays because of radiation. At Dr. Jordan’s office, we utilize digital dental x-rays, which emit up to 80% less radiation than traditional x-rays. Dental x-rays have always been among the lowest in radiation emissions because they are small and focused. Digital x-rays have allowed us to take safety to the next level.
We only take the x-rays necessary to accurately diagnose potential conditions. Unless a problem arises, that means about once per year. If you have an extensive dental history, gum disease, a history of decay, or any other conditions, we may recommend additional radiographs to monitor your health.
Rest assured that your health and safety are always our number one priority.
In addition to the safety benefits, digital dental x-rays provide benefits such as instant results, high resolution, and the ability to adjust images for clarity. When we take your x-rays in our office today, you don’t have to wait around for the films to be developed. In fact, they appear almost instantly on the computer screen, allowing for faster results.
Today’s x-rays are also more detailed than ever. We can zoom in, adjust the exposure, change the contrast, and use your x-rays in multiple ways to get a clearer picture. This allows for much earlier diagnosis.
Have you ever wanted to make some changes to your smile, but you have a hard time visualizing the result? Scott Jordan DDS can make a wax-up so that you can see what your smile will look like before we get started on treatment. This allows you to give feedback about the appearance and also provides an opportunity for Dr. Jordan to examine your bite prior to starting your treatment plan.
