Buttock augmentation has long been a goal of women with flat derrieres. Some surgeons treat the condition with silicone filled implants, but this approach has potential dangers, specifically infection, rupture, displacement, extrusion and hardening. Some unlicensed practitioners – both in this country and abroad – carry out direct liquid silicone injections. This is illegal, extremely dangerous and should be condemned. Fat injection to the buttock, commonly called the Brazilian butt lift, is a comparatively safe and benign procedure.
