Dental restorations like crowns and bridges play an important part in preserving the health of your teeth. If your teeth are damaged, we need to strengthen and protect them with crowns. If you have missing teeth, then a fixed bridge can be an excellent solution for addressing this problem.
Dr. Kenneth Cho is highly experienced at placing dental restorations that are not only functional and durable, but also look perfectly natural. By taking the time to listen to your concerns, we can help you decide on the type of restoration that best fits your needs.
Crowns are produced from a variety of material, including metal, steel, porcelain, and resin. They are designed to be placed over your teeth to help protect them from further decay and damage.
The first step in the restoration process is a thorough examination of your teeth. At that time we can assess your needs and determine if a dental crown or other type of restoration will work best for you.
If a dental crown is the solution for you, we will start by shaping your tooth to make room for the crown to fit perfectly. Next, we take impressions of your teeth that our lab will use to prepare your finished crown. Before you leave our office, we will fit you for a temporary crown.
Once your permanent crown is finished, you will return to our La Habra dental office for a second visit so that we can place your new restoration. Your tooth is cemented and the crown is carefully positioned into place.
Dental crowns are also used to complete the dental implant process. They are attached to the implant to create a replacement tooth that is stable, durable, and attractive.
Another treatment to resolve large spaces of missing teeth are dental bridges. The space left by a missing tooth can cause additional teeth to shift out of their proper position. Resolving this issue quickly is critical for the future of your oral health, and fixed bridges present one of the most effective treatments to address this problem.
Bridges are produced from prosthetic teeth and crowns that are positioned over the teeth on the sides of the bridge to stabilize their position. The materials traditionally used to create bridges are porcelain, metal, or ceramics. Bridges can resolve significantly large tooth gaps to help you recover your natural-looking smile.
