Veneers, Porcelain Veneers
Are there things about your smile that you’d like to change? Nobody wants to live with discolored, stained, or misaligned teeth that mar their appearance and make them feel self-conscious. You simply can’t enjoy a great smile when these blemishes are present.
Fortunately, you don’t have to endure a smile that doesn’t make you feel good about your appearance. At Dr. Kenneth Cho Dentistry, we have options for solving these types of frustrating cosmetic dental problems. One of the most effective treatments we offer is beautiful, durable porcelain veneers.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are essentially thin porcelain shells that are bonded securely to your teeth’s surface to conceal physical imperfections. We can use veneers to address a wide variety of aesthetic concerns:
Chipped, cracked, or broken teeth
Severely stained teeth
Slight tooth misalignment
Uneven spaces between teeth
Like many people, you may be suffering with one or more of these problems. If so, veneers are the perfect solution because we can use them to correct flaws on just one tooth or several teeth.
What Is the Veneers Process Like?
Dr. Cho will begin treatment by examining your teeth and then creating an impression to ensure that your new veneers fit your teeth properly. Since your veneers will last a long time, we want you to be completely happy with the way they look. We accomplish this by talking to you about your goals, then creating beautiful veneers with your personal preferences in mind.
Our lab produces a thorough and detailed set of veneers that will match your teeth’s natural appearance. The design process generally takes about five to ten days, depending on the number of teeth being treated.
Once your veneers are finished, you will come back to our La Habra dental office for the final step. After special cement is carefully applied to the dental enamel, the veneers are securely bonded to the surface of your teeth. A special light may also be focused on your teeth to hasten the hardening process.
Veneers created by Dr. Cho are extremely durable and can remain in place for ten years or more. They do not require any particular care, but you should be careful when eating hard foods like nuts since your veneers may chip.
