There is no other teacher in the South Bay with as much experience and love for teaching Spanish as Maria Ure. A native of Argentina, she has taught Spanish to over 5,000 students over 30 years in schools such as American Martyrs and Montessori School of MB to name a few. She has also taught privately from her home, the love for what she does is only growing deeper. The Spanish in Action curriculum is carefully designed for each group of children, ages 3 1/2 to 10 by Maria herself in a way that makes learning fun and highly academic. Each small group will learn a unique set of lessons in a stimulating and encouraging environment where kids can feel comfortable expressing themselves in new ways in Spanish using their five senses. The students play games, sing songs, act out real-life scenarios, taste foods, read stories, and do cultural arts and crafts in Spanish! The key is to apply whatever is learned in class to the real world. It's Maria's innate gift of teaching languages, her ability to create each custom made lesson, handmade materials, worksheets and games that sets her school apart. Spanish in Action's program is radically different because the teachers personally sit down with the kids actively engaging them, delivering part of the lesson through songs, which is an easy and fun way to retain knowledge. This unique set of tools keeps the students curious about learning Spanish as the teachers instill strong skills and reinforce proper pronunciation.
