DesertWraps.com is proud to have wrapped a decommissioned US Army Helicopter that now serves as an art display known as Take Me Home Huey. Its purpose is to draw awareness to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which impacts veterans of all ages.
The helicopter served as an air ambulance during the Vietnam War and was found in a scrapyard in northern Arizona. Noted artist Steve Maloney worked with non-profit organization to transform the helicopter into a stunning art display.
The vinyl wrap design consists if 1960's and 70's pop culture as well as Vietnam Helicopter Squadron names. The tail showcases bright colors of hope while the cabin consists of dark colors and graffiti. From a distance the helicopter is an impressive display that sparks wonder and interest.
The DesertWraps.com installation team printed the materials at the company warehouse in Palm Desert, CA and then installed the material on site. The project involved care and precision to ensure the material fit the helicopter exactly. This was a unique project for DesertWraps.com not only because of the craft being wrapped but also because of the project's theme.
