The Essentials of Theatrical Acting The best actors work from impulse, one unanticipated moment to another. You will develop a strong sense of your uniqueness, and will know exactly how to use it to create emotionally truthful, imaginative, and exciting performances. It is at this point that you may be invited to join Advanced Theatrical Scene Study. Students Will: Focus on the DOING and eliminate “overacting” Heighten Listening and Observation skills Heighten sensory awareness Stimulate Imagination Learn to create depth and meaning within any circumstance Become more giving, instinctual, and reactionary actors At the end of the A-Z Theatrical: The Essentials, the instructor, at his or her discretion, will recommend that each student either advance to the next level, Advanced Scene Study, or repeat the class to gain a better grasp on the technique. Instructors reserve the right to remove a student from the program for any reason. Full attendance in class is not a promise or guarantee of advancement at the School, job success or continued employment.
