Anger can lead to symptoms as varied as relationship problems, depression, anxiety, and chronic pain. Long term anger has been linked to health problems such as high blood pressure and even heart attacks. People make themselves angry when others don’t meet their demands for certain behaviors. Cognitive-behavioral therapy has been proven to be the therapy technique most effective in helping people learn to recognize what makes them angry, and teaching them how to take control of their own emotions rather than to be at the mercy of others. Our counselors are skilled in helping people learn to manage and resolve anger. After therapy, you won’t have to “control” your anger, as you will learn how to change your thinking patterns so you no longer respond to the triggers that previously led to your anger. However, when you do get angry, you will have the skills to resolve your anger quickly and peacefully.
