Since the 1980’s, the best way to treat wrinkles, sun damage and thinning of the skin of the face has been the CO2 laser. Everyone loved the results however the recovery time was difficult and prolonged. Over the next 20 years a variety of lasers and treatments have come and gone all claiming to give CO2 laser like results but without the downtime. None of them really delivered on that claim until the recent advance in the CO2 laser itself. With Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing only a small percentage of the skin is disrupted – but the energy delivered causes a thickening and tightening of the skin of the face that is very effective in reducing wrinkles, sun damage and reversing the thinning of the dermal layer that occurs with aging.
