On our program you will learn: To engage in a learning journey based in the origins of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and get in touch with the most effective self-defense system developed in the world “Brazilian Jiu-jitsu” • Students wishing to enroll All new students must undergo an evaluation by one of my instructors (Intro class) whom will set you up on a class the fits you and to which program the student should enter. • Our Grappling/No Gi Classes You will learn the art of grappling, methods of self-defense, as well as the authentic martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Jiu-Jitsu is the art of flexibility, adaptability, and it characterizes the triumph of human intelligence over brute strength this class includes calisthenics which develop the individual's strength and endurance. This class is designed for adults. Younger students are welcome to attend this class after an evaluation, assessment and approval by the instructor. • Progress Your progress is a direct consequence of your efforts. At ASR, Belts or Stripes are not given, they are earned. Progress will be carefully evaluated by our instructors’. • Women’s Fundaments of Jiu-jitsu The Women's Fundamentals program is our introductory program into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In this program you'll learn the basic moves you'll need for the rest of your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu life, which are no different than what we teach in our Men's program. We'll teach you basic and effective techniques from all major positions within Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; guard top, guard bottom, side-control top, side-control bottom, mount top, mount bottom, back control and back defense. The Women's Fundamentals program rotates every four months (16 weeks) and each week we work on one of the eight, major positions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Over the course of 16 weeks you'll attend at least two different classes, drilling each position thoroughly. The Women's Fundamentals program is divided into two separate programs. In Fundamentals 1 we will fill your mind with elementary techniques and drills. We will push you to do as many classes as possible so your basics are solid and your game is fundamentally sound! Approximately two months after you start, you will move on to Fundamentals 2 where you will still work on improving your fundamentals and technique, but you will also start training in our Organized Sparring sessions, Here we'll allow you to put practice into play. You'll do so in a safe, controlled setting under the close supervision of one of our instructors.
