Fundamentals of Refrigeration
Students explore the refrigeration cycle by way of theory demonstration. Classes are led by industry expert instructors. Technical demos feature tools and equipment used in the field.
Fundamentals of Electricity
This course prepares students for a future career working with high voltage electricity. The curriculum focuses on safety with instructional labs that teach students how to diagnose and repair refrigeration and cooling systems. Students learn about schematics, testing meters, high voltage electronics, multi-stage motors, grounding, and a variety of other skills necessary for working with alternating current used in refrigeration systems.
Comfort Systems – Residential
This course is a further study of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. Students are trained by witnessing equipment come to life, thanks to their newfound skills. Classwork also includes gas piping, sizing, and installation as it applies to HVACR system operation.
Comfort Systems – Commercial
Students are prepared to work on commercial air conditioning, heating and climate control systems. After completion, student will earn an R410a safety certification and EPA section 609 certification.
Refrigeration Systems & Practices
Students are trained to maintain, diagnose, and repair residential and commercial grade walk-in refrigerators and freezers. Course curriculum also includes a study of commercial grade ice-makers and other refrigeration related systems, providing an in-depth look at low temperature commercial refrigeration equipment.
Advanced Trouble-Shooting Techniques
Refrigeration troubleshooting is taken to a more advanced level, as students are exposed to the E-STAR Trainer. The E-STAR Trainer is HVAC diagnostic training equipment developed by TWS and RSI to teach expert-level electrical troubleshooting skills.
Fundamentals of Solar
Through a combination of lectures, problem solving techniques and hands-on lab exercises, students learn the concepts and processes of photovoltaic systems, including their design and installation.
