If your Kitchen is looking dated or in need of a fresh look, painting your cabinets will have an incredible impact on the appearance of your home. Your friends and family will all think that you replaced your cabinets! Even older oak cabinetry looks beautiful when painted properly. Refinishing your cabinets will save you a lot of money and you can spare your old cabinets from the dumpster. Well, before you pick up a brush and get started on it yourself, or hire a contractor who does not specialize at this, listen to how we do things and why....
We start by taking off all of your doors and removing the hardware, these will be taken back to our shop where we can prep and paint them in an optimal environment with controlled temperatures and ventilation. We will spend the rest of the day prepping and priming the boxes on-site and caulking any gaps. The prep work is very important. We will be cleaning and power sanding the surfaces to be painted to remove the topcoat and allow adhesion to the original wood surface- this is what makes the finish resistant to chipping. All this will be done with a Hepa Vacuum Attachment on the sanding tool so that there will be no dust circulating around your home. Did I mention that you will still have access to your kitchen if need be and you will not need to empty your cabinets?
The next day we will lightly hand sand the primer and apply the top coating, after that we are done until we come back with your finished doors! The system off site is similar where we will clean and power sand all of the doors and drawer fronts. We then spray two coats of primer and lightly sand for an extra smooth finish. Two coats of enamel paint are then sprayed over the primer to complete the process and achieve a "factory finish" . We use the leading products in the industry to achieve a long lasting, durable, and rich looking finish while being much lower in odor and VOC content than paints of the past. All we have to do now is let the doors cure for a little while in our shop and we will be back on our scheduled date to install the doors and hardware to complete your project.
If you prefer the look of stained wood cabinetry, that is a great option as well! We can convert your dated stain color to fit today's trends and apply a rich satin finish top coat that is sure to impress.
We offer glazing techniques and specialty finishes to fit your theme and create a look unique to your home.
If you would like to schedule a free consultation with us we would love to meet with you!
