Therapeutic Counseling Services
Rose Lawrence, MA, LPC, NCC
Adhd, Sexual Abuse, Attention Deficit Disorder
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor who provides counseling services for individuals, couples and teens/tweens with mood and behavioral issues. I have experience working with relationship issues, families, individuals struggling with depression, stress/anxiety and self esteem issues. I have extensive experience working with teens dealing with self injury, school related issues such as bullying, ADD and socialization struggles.
At times it is difficult for teens to communicate how they feel using words so I also offer an Extended Assessment which allows each individual to communicate at their own pace without pressure to speak using creative interventions such as art, music, sand tray and photography. I received additional training from Dr. Eliana Gil of the Starbright Training Institute for sand tray therapy, an extended assessment and trauma focused CBT.
I strive to offer a casual, warm and empathic approach in my helping clients explore the nature and solution to their issues. My clients would say I’m not your traditional kind of “just talking” therapist because I do incorporate a variety of tools in my sessions when needed such as sand tray therapy, art, music and laughter!
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication studies from the University of San Diego and a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Roosevelt University. In addition to my practice, I also teach part time as an adjunct faculty member teaching for Roosevelt University’s Clinical Counseling graduate program. I am both bilingual and bi-cultural and have extensive experience working with a diverse range of clients in both English and Spanish.
