The Grounds Guys
cleanup, Clean Up
March is notoriously unpredictable. Shrubs can be crusty with snow on the first of the month, and then a couple of weeks later, temperatures can warm up enough for flower and leaf buds to show signs of life. March is a good time to take stock of your yard and see if it’s time to thin out crowded beds and do some transplanting to fill in bare spots. A thorough spring cleanup readies your lawn and landscaping for summer, but it can accomplish more than just that. In some cases, it will save you from headaches farther down the road. CELC’s services help your lawn and landscape recover from the winter months and look beautiful. Spring is also a great time to explore adding a new feature to your property.
CELC can handle any spring cleanup activity, and it’s pretty much impossible to list them all. But here is a decent list of typical spring cleanup work. If you don’t see what you’re looking for on the list, be sure to contact us or give us a call at 815.276.3724.
Pruning dead & damaged branches from trees & shrubs
Dividing & cutting back perennials as necessary. As long as the ground is thawed, we can divide them to fill in bare areas as well
Removing dead foliage from around trees, bushes and flowerbeds
Preparing damaged lawn areas for seeding. This mainly consists of removing dead turf/grass and loosening the soil in damaged areas
Hardscape retouching: We’ll put the rock/brick/gravel back where it belongs
Pet waste removal
Adding new mulch once dead foliage is removed
Power raking, also known as dethatching (crucial for proper grass growth)
Pick up sticks, branches, and any other debris
