Why choose Plaster over drywall? Plaster is much harder than drywall. This makes for a more durable wall surface. This is important if you have kids that run around your house and bump into walls. Drywall's lifespan can be measured in decades, or less if it gets wet. Plaster's lifespan can be measured in centuries. Joe will be able to match the texture of plaster to the rest of your house. Anyone looking at the trowel finish on new plaster will have no idea it wasn't original to your house. Plaster is more fire resistant than drywall. The acoustics of plaster just aren't the same as drywall. Plaster is thicker, more solid, and has more mass and plaster is a better sound barrier. Drywall needs to be sanded but plaster does not. There is less mess when remodeling your home.
