Whether you need one or multiple procedures, your Indianapolis dentist at Monon Family Dental will design a comprehensive treatment plan to restore your smile to health and beauty.
Restore Damaged Teeth
If you have a severely decayed or broken tooth, you may need a crown to repair it. Your dentist will remove damaged tooth material and shape the tooth into a post shape. Then, a custom designed crown is placed over the prepared tooth to protect it and to improve its functionality. We offer crowns made from metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal, and ceramic. Your dentist can help you choose the right material for your crown.
Replace Missing Teeth
We offer several different tooth replacement options including bridges and dental implant surgery.
A bridge is a reliable fixture that places a false tooth in the gap left behind by a missing tooth. A crown is placed on each of the teeth on either side of the gap and the false tooth is suspended between them.
If you are missing one or more teeth, you may be interested in dental implants. A dental implant consists of a titanium base, and a lifelike crown attached to the base using an abutment piece. The base is placed in the bone of the jaw, where it fuses with the bone during a process called osseointegration. After a period of healing, your custom-made crown is attached.
Dental implants function just like a natural tooth. Plus, they are so realistic-looking that your dental implant will be nearly indistinguishable from the rest of your teeth. Another benefit of a dental implant is that it stimulates the active tissue of the bone, which helps to keep the bone at a healthy density.
All-on-4 is an advanced tooth replacement solution that supports a denture on only four implants. If you need all of the teeth in your upper, lower, or both jaws replaced, this may be a good alternative to a traditional denture.
All-on-4 will restore your chewing function and make your smile whole again, without some of the downfalls of traditional dentures. For instance, an All-on-4 fixture will not slip or slide in your mouth, or require any messy creams to stay in place. This may be appropriate for you if you have limited jaw bone density.
