Perennial plants are favored for their longevity in the landscape. You can plant them once and they return faithfully year after year. There is one caveat, though; not all perennials are hardy in all planting zones. A perennial hardy to Zone 5 will not survive a Zone 3 winter. That plant would be considered an annual in Zone 3. So, select your perennials carefully and you will be rewarded with years of beauty.
