Whiteman Dental Associates
Dental crowns are prosthetic teeth designed to fit over a tooth following treatment for advanced decay or trauma. When placing your crown, Dr. Whiteman will first prepare the tooth by removing any decay, infection, or damaged portions. This may involve root canal therapy. He will then reshape the tooth to accommodate the crown and take a series of digital images using CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic) technology. These images guide a sophisticated milling unit that fabricates a customized porcelain crown in the office, often while you wait - it's the ultimate in patient convenience! When the restoration is complete, Dr. Whiteman will attach it to the tooth using dental cement.
