The 100% pure essential oils in my very own special blend are eucalyptus, rosemary, cedar wood, clove bud, geranium, lemongrass and pure jojoba oil as a base. Jojoba oil contains chained C20 and C22 fatty acids, and two unsaturated bonds. This allows the oil to be manipulated for different uses. It is almost pure in nature and is non-toxic, resistant to becoming rancid and it is also biodegradable, which is a great topical application on dogs. Іt aids in healing dry and itchy skіn. Іt also increases the production of skin cell renewal. Jojoba oil is good for skin irritation due to dermatitis, as it effectively penetrates the skin, and helps to keep the dog's skin well moisturized. Jojoba oil helps to heal skin wounds quickly as well. This is the main reason I chose this base for my blends. We recommend that you use Buddy's flea & Tick drops in conjunction with Buddy's Flea & Tick "Bug" Spray. The spray makes the application a little easier and it really allows for the full coverage for inbetween applications.
This product is not guaranteed to work on all dogs due to individual sensitivities. Some dogs have different reactions and can show signs of displeasure so always test the oil with just a drop on the shoulder blades over the first 24 hours to make sure there is no adverse reaction. The amounts that should be used really vary with each dog. To start, I recommend using 3 drops on the shoulder blades and 3 drops above the tail 2x a month for a 50 lb dog and see how they react to it. If you find no itching at all and no irritation, then it may be the target dose. Buddy is 80 lbs. and I generally give him 4 drops on both spots 2x a month because he is a little heavier and he loves to roll in the grass. Little Rusty who is only 15 lbs. generally gets 2 drops in both spots 2x a month and that seems to work well with her. As for the spray for in between applications, just a spray in the same general area will work best. If your pet is going out into higher grass or wooded areas, maybe a spray on their under carriage would work as well (avoid contact with genital areas). Keeps in mind that depending on activity and playtime and especially after baths, these products may be used more often than the standard flea medication because it is all natural. Test it out and see what works best for your pet.
Warning: If your dog is experiencing an irritation or a rash, never use water to “wash off oils” this will enhance the effect. You can use a V-6 (or high quality vegetable or coconut oil) directly on site of application or irritation that will dilute the effect and soothe. Use wisely. Cats may be more sensitive than dogs, so keep a sharp eye on them, I recommend using a diffuser with cats. Drooling or excess salivation is an indication that the mixture is too strong and can be diluted with a little oil. This is approximately a six (6) month supply for two 50 lb dogs; $4.17 per dog, per month. This bottle will last less or more depending on the size of your pet. Buddy's Flea & Tick Remedy is only a preventative, if you currently have fleas you must rid the fleas to prevent further infestation. This product does not kill fleas.
