On May 31, 2014, we will be joining many other local sponsors and the Macomb Township Parks and Recreation Association as they put on the Tons O’ Trucks and Wheeled Wonders event. This is a unique and exciting event, featuring over 65 different vehicles that children can go inside and explore! Among the many “wheeled wonders” will be a number of dump trucks, buses, monster trucks, and other large vehicles, all of which will be open for imaginative playtime and learning. There are a variety of other activities for kids and families to enjoy, including inflatables, face painting, stilt walkers, visits with Stan the Fireman, endless refreshments, crafts, and fun giveaways. Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan will be sending our Dental Hygiene Education team of Sherri O. and Tarra H. to meet children and parents at this event. They will be near the “Arts & Scraps” craft station where children can create an art project made entirely from “junk” (bits of foam, boxes, plastic parts, paper, etc…) donated by local businesses. The “Arts & Scraps” station is not only a good time for kids, but also helps Macomb businesses in their efforts to responsibly manage (and creatively recycle) their waste. Sherri and Tarra will be available to help children make their crafts, but will also be there to teach parents and kids about pediatric dental health needs. They’ll be there to answer questions and provide guidance for parents looking for any kind of information relating to their kids’ teeth. They’ll be equipped with educational materials, as well as valuable coupons that offer a $25 credit for a first-time pediatric dentistry visit, or a $50 credit for a first-time orthodontic visit to the Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan office. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in this wonderful community event. Since opening our doors in 1968, we’ve worked hard to support our neighboring communities. We feel strongly that community participation helps us to give back to our neighbors and friends who have supported us through the years. A strong sense of family and community are, after all, major aspects of a functioning and positive local environment. If you’re interested in featuring your truck in the Tons O’ Trucks and Wheeled Wonders Event, please call Michelle (586) 992-2900 (Ext. 2908). The event will be held at 17900 23 Mile Road (West of Romeo Plank Road) at the St. John’s Community, Saturday, May 31, 2014. Doors will be open from 10AM - 1PM. We can’t wait to see you there!
