The corneal scleral shell is used to cover a blind eye that has not otherwise deteriorated to a condition that requires enucleation. They also improve patient comfort by providing a smooth surface for the eye lids to close over. These shells are thinner than regular ocular prostheses and require precise fitting to achieve successful results. We carefully craft your scleral shell to not only looks like your companion eye, but also to move in a synchronous manner with the other eye.
