Neuroplasticity is the guiding principle of Functional Neurology and is the most exciting area of neurological research that is “changing the brain” without the use of drugs or surgery. Neuroplasticity is remodeling of the various parts of your nervous system to work more efficiently and even regenerate. This happens when neurons are activated with the right amount and type of stimulation without exceeding the metabolic capacity of your brain cells. Dr. Young is continuously developing new evaluation and treatment methods for patient care, incorporating current information from the most recent discoveries in basic and advanced neuroscience principles and related fields. As a Board Certified Chiropractic Functional Neurologist I use physical examination and advanced neurologic testing in determining which areas of your nervous system are not functioning as they should. This information is used in formulating an appropriate plan to improve function of your nervous system, and most importantly, as a marker of your progress.
