The Wicked Weekend of Games is coming again! Will you be prepared for it? Not until you've created a monster for Nuke-Con’s “Make a Monster” contest you won’t! The monsters are running rampant at Nuke-Con this year, and we need to you to create them! Nuke-Con’s “Make a Monster” contest - sponsored by houseofbts.net - is your chance to design, create, and bring your very own monster to life! The Contest: Use your imagination to design the most horrible monster you can think of, and then create it! Design its details, write its backstory, illustrate its looks, or even produce the kinds of sounds it makes… all elements of creation are welcome for this contest! If your monster is horrifying enough, it will wander the hallways and hunt in the dark rooms of the house of BtS as an exclusive monster! But the very best monstrosity will make an appearance in a Beyond the Supernatural adventure at this year’s Nuke-Con while its creator gets a free Nuke-Con T-shirt! Monster examples Judging: Judging will be performed by seasoned BtS game players & GM's and will be based on a variety of merits. Each of the following categories will receive a score from 1 to 10: originality; creativity; attention to details; how well the monster’s information and details can be incorporated into a tabletop game; its ability to be scaled to a particular difficulty, and my personal favorite, good old fear inducement! Added features like illustrations, sounds and music to accompany your creative writing will get bonus points ranging from 1 to 5. The winner will be the entry with the most total points. In the case of a tie, the judges will have a D20 roll off. Note: While the House of BtS is a Beyond the Supernatural RPG fan site, you’re not required to specifically make a monster based on the BtS game rules, although you’re certainly welcome to. All entries must be sent to [email protected] for consideration. All entries are due by August 1st, 2014. The winner will be announced the week of Nuke-Con on the houseofbts.net, and then at Nuke-Con itself. Winners need not be present to win.
