Over time, facial skin can lose its youthful tightness and elasticity, causing skin to sag. This can create unwanted bags, jowls, and wrinkles that can make you look older than you feel. Gravity, exposure to the sun, and daily stress can compound these effects, also causing the appearance of premature or accelerated aging. Fortunately, Dr. Rauscher can perform facelift surgery at his New Jersey practice to reverse signs of facial aging. By removing excess fat, tightening facial muscles, and readjusting the facial skin to its youthful position, Dr. Rauscher can help you to look beautifully refreshed. Facelift at our New Jersey practice is a highly individualized procedure that Dr. Rauscher will tailor to your unique bone structure, skin texture, and underlying musculature.
During facelift surgery, the facial skin is separated from the underlying structures and deposits of excess fat. The fat is selectively removed in order to enhance the contours of the face. Dr. Rauscher then tightens the facial muscles to ensure lasting results and draws the skin back to its ideal position. Excess skin is removed along the incision to allow for a smooth closure. During the closing process, Dr. Rauscher uses special tissue adhesives called tissue glue or platelet gel to accelerate facial healing. These adhesives allow the patient to return to daily activities sooner and with less bruising.
