Dunkin Donuts Gets New Urethane Cement Flooring

HPS is helping innovate the Dunkin Donuts operations to mass produce their donut products through commissary facilities. This project out in Virginia encompassed 3200 square feet and included encapsulating a variety of existing substrates. It also included integrating four inch integrated cove base to create a seamless flooring system. This particular design meets board of health requirements in that it is easy to clean and maintain.
This urethane cement flooring system is encouraged by private food auditing services because it meets SQF standards that are so highly sought after by the food processing industry. Some of the benefits of this design include quick turnaround and tenacious bonding, in fact it adheres so well no priming is required. Furthermore, because it is FDA/USDA compliant it has virtually no odor. In addition our HEPA vacuuming system allows for dust free installation.
We hope to encourage you to review the included videos that not only highlight our finished commercial kitchen flooring system but also show our ability to renovate a substrate that was severely "chopped up" and that also had areas of tiling that required extra scarification. You might note that the bonding characteristics of cementitious urethane are such that thoroughly abrading most existing flooring (if well bonded) is all that is required to achieve a proper finished product. Obviously this results in a significant savings to our client, not to mention the overall cleanliness and cost of disposal that comes with the removal process.
This project was a three day turnaround, if the existing slab had not required our rehabilitating it for acceptance of the new polymer flooring it would typically be a two day project. While many might debate this opinion, the difference in urethane cement flooring is most noted by it's user friendliness. They are considered the "state of the art" food processing system for their thermal shock value, as well as their similarity in expansion coefficient to typical cementitious substrates.
