Silver coins are minted and distributed by the national mint of a particular country. It includes the one ounce 99.99% pure Canadian Silver Maple Leaf, the one ounce 99.93% pure American Silver Eagle, as well as China’s Silver Panda coin. Many other countries around the world have their own versions of silver coins. They are generally more expensive than their bar and round counterparts but still tend to be popular and in-demand because of collector and secondary market values. Coins may be minted as either fine silver or junk silver, the latter of which are older coins which contain a smaller percentage of silver. All silver coins are considered rare because of scarcity and as such, they have added value than bars and rounds which are produced in large quantities.
