1) To enrich lives through youth development in art and growth in fine art appreciation. 2) To work to increase understanding and awareness of contributions to the history of art and ideas, and to support innovation, education, creativity and research in the field of art. The cultural importance of this mission is to conceive, cultivate, nurture, develop, produce, and to educate the Northeast Ohio community as to the richness and variety of art. The educational component will allow the community to create working relationships and garner additional experience and knowledge for Contemporary Art. Lylesart makes its greatest impact through its unique ability to bring together artists, collectors, students, families and communities to learn from each other and to encourage the study and appreciation in the vitality of visual arts. Our organization maintains long-term relationships and meaningful dialogue with socially influential artists globally. While visual literacy is one of our goals, we believe that a meticulous understanding of creative potential is a powerful enabling tool that can support critical thinking, and other developmental skills. Building a foundation through community engagement, inviting the benefit of shared consciousness while understanding and teaching visual literacy about historical innovation will enrich our modern society. This process will allow the community to engage in a platform that deals with the exposure and development for neighborhood growth and enrichment in the cultural arts. Our intention is to cultivate community engagement through visual interpretations, an emerging from it with expanding vision toward both critiquing mainstream artistic discourses around collectivity and articulating the centrality of cultural practices through the process of social visual environments.
