Linda Rak Canepa DDS
Stained teeth are a natural part of aging and can occur because of coffee and tobacco use – or simply from the foods you eat. Having a yellow or stained smile can make you look older than you would like and might even make you feel self-conscious about your appearance.
Many people think that cosmetic treatments might be out of their budget, but professional teeth whitening is one of the most affordable and easiest ways to improve the appearance of your smile. Dr. Linda Canepa offers a variety of professional whitening options to suit our patients’ individual needs.
Professional In-Office Whitening
For patients who want results fast without the hassle of whitening at home, our in-office system offers dramatic results in about an hour. We first place a protective gel over your gums to help eliminate sensitivity. Then we will cover the surfaces of your teeth with a professional strength whitening gel and allow it to sit on your teeth for about twenty minutes. We can repeat the process up to four times per office visit so that you can leave with a significantly whiter smile on the same day!
To maintain your white teeth, you can use custom take-home trays for periodic touch-ups.
Custom Take-Home Teeth Whitening
Our custom professional take-home whitening system is a popular choice if you prefer to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your home, on your time. We will take impressions of your teeth and create custom whitening trays that fit your teeth snugly and hold the gel in place.
We will provide you with enough professional strength whitening gel to get the job done along with instructions that we customize for your unique needs. Our take-home system allows you to achieve excellent results in two to three weeks, depending on how often you whiten your teeth. You can save your trays for occasional touch-ups as they become necessary.
Disposable Professional Whitening Trays
For patients who want the most affordable option or for patients who want to avoid impressions, you might consider our disposable take-home teeth whitening system. Each tray is preloaded with whitening gel and comes with instructions on how long to wear them and how often you should use them.
This system is great for patients who just want to try out whitening without committing to a custom system.
Common Side Effects
Most patients can whiten their teeth safely without any side effects. Some patients experience gum irritation or tooth sensitivity. Often, these side effects will subside with less frequent or shorter duration whitening sessions and are not permanent. Even if you have sensitive teeth, we have options to relieve your symptoms so you can still whiten your teeth and achieve a brighter, more dazzling smile.
