Root Canals, tooth extractions
Our goal is to help you keep your teeth healthy so that they will last a lifetime. Sometimes, unfortunately, an infection or damage caused by decay or trauma will make it necessary to perform a root canal or possibly an extraction. While the idea of these two procedures can be scary, modern technology and techniques have advanced greatly. Root canals and extractions, formerly uncomfortable and time consuming procedures, are now efficient procedures that can be performed quickly and quite comfortably.
Dr. Rupert will take the time to ensure your comfort before beginning your procedure. Throughout the treatment, Dr. Rupert will pay careful attention to you, monitoring your comfort level at all times. After the procedure, Dr. Rupert will provide after-care instructions to help you avoid complications following your appointment.
Root canal therapy is a valuable procedure that helps preserve an infected tooth that might otherwise require extraction. During this procedure, Dr. Rupert uses specialized instruments to cleanse the interior of your tooth and remove the infection. After the procedure is complete, your tooth will be filled and, if necessary, capped with a temporary crown.
In some cases, extractions are the most appropriate treatment. To perform an extraction, Dr. Rupert gently loosens your tooth and then lifts it away. Once your extraction is complete, we can discuss replacement options to restore your smile.
If you are in pain, call us right away. Leaving an infected or seriously damaged tooth untreated can cause unnecessary problems with your other teeth, making the situation worse and more difficult to treat.
