Tooth Extraction, Teeth Extraction
The goal of quality dental care is to use treatments that preserve the health and integrity of your teeth. At Tysons Dentistry, we do everything we can to ensure that your smile remains healthy and intact for many years. But situations do arise where the only practical solution is extraction of a tooth.
We know that the thought of losing a tooth is upsetting for anyone, and combined with the stress over the procedure itself, tooth extraction can be overwhelming. You can rest assured that Drs. Sanati and Shahram and our compassionate team will put you at ease so that your experience is as stress-free as possible.
Reasons for Tooth Extraction
From time to time, it’s necessary to remove a tooth on an emergency basis, as in the case of severe root canal infection or dental trauma. However, tooth extraction is often needed as part of an overall treatment plan for the following reasons:
Infection of the root canal that cannot be resolved with traditional treatment
Severe decay that has caused a tooth to deteriorate beyond repair
Wisdom teeth that have erupted in a way that threatens the alignment of surrounding teeth
Preparation for placement of full or partial dentures
Improperly positioned teeth that affect alignment of surrounding teeth
Preparation for orthodontic treatment for children
Your Comfort is Our First Priority
Dr. Sanati and Dr. Shahram have performed many simple extractions for adults as well as children. Their skill, combined with our state-of-the-art technology, makes extraction safe and efficient, minimizing stress and post-operative discomfort.
Tooth extraction can be intimidating but it does not have to be stressful. We are sensitive to the fact that your anxiety may be overwhelming, so we offer sedation dentistry to keep our patients calm during procedures like tooth extraction.
Depending on your individual needs, we may suggest nitrous oxide as well as oral sedation so that you remain comfortable. A member of our team will also be with you at all times to support and encourage you before, during, and after the procedure.
