A Family Dental Center
The process of installing a crown in most dental offices takes 2-3 visits, but we now have the technology that allows us to COMPLETE most crowns the SAME DAY! First, local anesthetic is placed and then the tooth will be reshaped so that the crown can be placed over it. Once the tooth has been reshaped, we optically scan the tooth into the computer which creates a 3D image. We can design the crown to the proper fit right there on the computer as you wait. The data is sent to our on-site CAD/CAM milling machine which mills the crown out of a block of very strong material. We try the crown in and then run it through a cycle in the porcelain oven where it achieves its final color and strength. We can then put the crown in with permanent cement - no temporary crown and no need for a return appointment!
