Write a reviewOur mission at St. Thomas's Community Preschool is to provide a balanced curriculum of age appropriate (3 years old by Oct. 1, and 4 years old by Oct. 1) scholastic and Christian education for preschool children in an enjoyable, socially nurturing environment. We believe that children learn best in a safe environment; one that is physically safe and one in which children feel safe to express themselves and take risks. We emphasize open communication with parents, teachers and students creating a solid partnership supporting the students. We believe learning should be fun and filled with wonder, curiosity and discovery. At the same time, we feel that children need to learn the importance of self-discipline and manners in getting along with their peers. Above all, we want preschool to be pleasant, positive and enriching experience.Curriculum: St. Thomas's uses a well-acclaimed integrated curriculum which consists of: Literacy and language development, Math, Science, Social Studies, Social/emotional development, Fine Arts, Physical Development, Health and Safety, Media and Technology.The program also offers: Weekly Chapel, Christian Education, Community Service, Music and movement, Daily Snack, Playground time.Classes: 4/5 year olds - Mon., Wed., Fri. 9-12 3/4 year olds - Tues/Thurs. 9-12The Director/Lead Teacher, Marsha Jacobs, has over 10 years experience working with three to five year olds in the classroom. She keeps current with eearly childhood education by attending seminars and taking continuing education classes.
