As an Interventional Radiologist, a doctor specially trained in performing minimally invasive treatments using imaging guidance, Dr. Singireddy personally performs duplex ultrasound to assess the venous anatomy, vein valve function, and venous blood flow changes, which can assist in diagnosing venous insufficiency. He always discusses the ultrasound findings and treatment options during a pre-procedure consultation. FAQs
How does EVLT work?
The laser energy damages the vein walls, shrinking them and closing the faulty vein so that the blood cannot flow through it. This eliminates vein bulging at its source.
Will insurance cover the treatment?
Many insurance companies cover the treatment of vein disease that is associated with substantial pain and other complications, but individual insurance companies may limit the types of therapy that are covered.
What are the complications of this procedure?
The only minimal complications experienced with EVLT have been a small number of cases of numbness that passes quickly. Rare cases of deep vein thrombosis (one in several thousand treated patients)
